For Red Trail Campground: For us, the park was excellent. All the hookups worked well. The WiFi was FAST. Consistently fast. We were able to update all our apps, stream videos, the works. ATT and Verizon also work here. Our site had very old growth Cottonwood trees well trimmed and tall. The sites are adequately spaced. Picnic table was good. The sites are hard sand with some gravel. When it rains there is some puddling, but this place is a near desert so that isn’t a frequent problem When it does occur, you get to see the park turn green. Not a bad trade. Check in was friendly and organized. The parking support was excellent. (Unusually so). No fire pits, but with the burn ban right now, that wouldn’t have made a difference. We are quite close to the events and the city. They have TV, but we didn’t hook up. We liked the Musical - for which the facilities are way better than expected. Excellent, even. They also have a Theodore Roosevelt single person show in town which we see today. It is a chance to learn more about the first Roosevelt and his times.

For Red Trail Campground: Park is mostly shaded and sites are fine for my 40’ rig with car parked beside. We changed our reservation twice before we got here. No harm no foul. We arrived a couple hours after a rainstorm, and the park, though mostly gravel, had very little mud. Access in the park is good with no problem moving our 40 foot coach around. We have all stayed in the parks that say they have Wi-Fi, to find out you have .07 Mb. Not the case here. Wi-Fi is good with over 13 Mb all the time no problem. They have a decent little store at the office where you check in. Two minutes from the park, are three Bar and Grills. The prices are tourist prices, but the places are good. Three minutes from the park is the entrance to Theodore Roosevelt national Park. This Rv park is a home run for me, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
PS ignore all stays directions to get off on exit 24 coming from the east. Exit 24 is coming from the west, and exit 27 is coming from the east.

For Red Trail Campground: I agree wholeheartedly with Jan. It close to the National Park, which was our purpose for staying there. However, it was really not much more than a dirt RV parking lot. However, my husband liked the dump station. It was clean and there was good water pressure for flushing the black tank.

For Red Trail Campground: Strictly adequate on August 5. Close, tight "trailor park" with abysmally slow check-in at the end of the day. Water, electric, good WIFI, visually unappealing. Dump station difficult to access. Had to unhitch. We did so, pulled our blinds and went to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, stunning. Upon return we checked out the State Park two additional miles down the road. The State Park is visually a badlands park with large electric only sites, water and dump station readily available. We had buyers remorse and will definitely use the State Park next time through.

For Red Trail Campground: We really liked this campground. Stayed in September so wasn’t crowded. Spots are not well gravelled and it had rained hard the day before so spots were a little muddy. Friendly staff. We did not use any of the facilities. We would stay again. The musical and Gospel Brunch were great. Also may want to try Boots, best burgers anywhere.

Silverlife
For Red Trail Campground: It’s a very nice family run campground in a tourist area. The sites are fine. You aren’t going to spend much time there. You are going to be at the play, in town, at the Petrified Forest, at TRNP and more. Everything is clean and well cared for. I’ve seen much tighter spots in tourist areas.

For Red Trail Campground: I was alittle nervous because of the reviews. It is crowded, but we weren't at the RV long enough to hang out outside. We went to the National Park, walked through town and to the Musical. We asked to stay another night and they got us in but we had to move. No big deal.
Very crowded, the staff was nice, had full hookups and the location is awesome.
