For CCC Campground: This was a very pretty campsite but I’m giving it only one star for a few reasons. The vault toilets were clean and well-stocked on our visit. There were no trash cans in the bathrooms or trash collection at the campground. There is water, but it is extremely bad-tasting so I’d recommend bringing your own to drink. Also, the campground is on the highway that is the main corridor for trucks and workers going to and from the Bakken Oilfields. So driving there you are in a steady stream of huge trucks. And we were awoken in the middle of the night by a group of young men who decided to start a huge bonfire and talk loudly in the site right across from us. We went to talk to them about it and they quieted down, but we got the impression that this was a place where they were used to being able to do this sort of thing. Maybe this place used to be a nice out of the way place to visit, but because of where it is, it is definitely not somewhere I’d like to stay again.

For CCC Campground: A really nice primitive campground just across the Little Missouri River from Theodore Roosevelt NP and convenient to the Maah Daah Hey Trail. Relatively level spacious sites. Plenty of sky for solar collection, sunsets, and star gazing. No hook ups. No lights. No water. Vault toilets. No showers. No dump station. No trash collection. No Verizon signal. We had just one set of neighbors on a week day in August! Campground fee: $6.00 Honor system. No attendant. Our favorite place yet this trip!
