For Niobrara State Park: The sites are shaded and very nice. I was disturbed, however,?by the blatant display, with large flags, of the camp hosts (tent area) political affiliation. I felt that it was an inappropriate platform.

For Niobrara State Park: We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Niobrara State Park. We stayed in the modern RV park, but there was plenty of tent camping spots throughout the park. The hosts of the camp were very friendly and loved to talk about the area. The campgrounds where very clean and the RV pads were asphalt and fairly level. Each camping spot had a table and fire pit with a grill with plenty of lawn to enjoy. I loved the fact that there was very little for lighting at night because the sky was lit up with stars, but I made the terrible mistake of forgetting my telescope! Great place for stargazing! I could see it as an issue because it was pitch black outside at night for some people. The spots are electric only with access to water points that were locked, which you had to call staff to unlock for you to receive water. We had the misfortune of having the dump station septic system overflow on us... rather disgusting but the office had it pumped and cleaned up within a couple of hours. They were very nice about it. There is plenty to do in the area. We were very surprised to find such a gorgeous place in Nebraska with wildlife around you. We saw deer, turkeys, lots of bird, butterflies, and dragonflies. The trails were well maintained and easy to hike with lots of options as to where you wanted to go. They have a nice looking swimming pool on a hill over looking the river(which was closed for the winter) and lots of scenic views. We ventured out and saw Ashfalls Fossil Bed about 40 minutes away. It is well worth the visit seeing over 30 full skeleton rhinos and some three-toed deer. We found it an amazing stop. That day we ate at Green Gables about 3 miles south of Ashfalls Fossil Bed, which was really good.

For Niobrara State Park: We have been coming to this park to camp with our pull type trailer for the last 14 years. This is a nice quiet campground with good scenery throughout the park. Have enjoyed running barefoot throughout the park on the asphalt roads early in the mornings usually seeing deer and wild turkey. The pool here is also of a good size that is clean and has an area with a depth of 10 feet. The campground has paved camping pads with reasonable space between neighboring pads and has trees that provide shade in most spots. The park also offers good sized clean cabins located on top of the hills overlooking the Missouri River.

For Niobrara State Park: We stayed overnight at Niobrara State Park and after driving a few miles out of our way to get there, we were surprised with a 5 dollar per vehicle a day entry fee in order to get to pay another 20 dollars to camp. In most state parks we have visited you pay a day use fee for day use and the camping fee includes entry. Looking at the Nebraska State Parks website there is no clear info on this, If you you look at the camping data if just says ( camping is 10 to 20 dollars). They certainly could make their website more clear. Otherwise, the park was very nice.
