For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Typical koa. Pricey and way too many campers jammed in. Very clean bathrooms and excellent laundry facility. Gas smell in morning. Good place for one night passing through

For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Arrived at the camp and all was well. Fairly quiet. Friendly man guided to our site. But, around 4 a.m., i awoke to a stench that had me out of bed looking for a doggie mistake tho, it didn't smell like dog poop or vomit. Since I was already up, I took one of our dogs out to pee. Oh my, that awful smell was twice as bad outside. I was glad in a way to learn the smell didn't originate from our motor home. I guess I've always been sensitive to odors as a skunk can give me a headache. Unfortunately, this odor too made my head ache. Maybe this was a one time thing as the reviews were swell, but I will try and get our fee for tonight back. I can't stand it here.

For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Stayed for 3 nights and was impressed with this park. Big sites, some workers, but park was quiet. Showers and bathrooms were immaculate. We ordered the BBQ for dinner one night, and it was great!
Would definitely recommend for those visiting the caverns. We also took a day trip over to White sands. It's a 3 hour drive each way, but the drive through the mountains and up through Cloudcroft was worth it.

For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Not bad rv park, large sites all gravel. They don't enforce dogs on leashs, several workers camped there did not ever have their dogs on a leash. With a big oil reserve found a worker there said the campground will have over a hundred workers this summer. That's nice for the campground but I hate going to campgrounds full of workers.

For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Super nice KOA. A bit off the highway so noice was not that bad. Lots of space between sites with some trees. Pool is solar heated, so kids liked it even though it was March. We paid 51 bucks, so on the high side, but money was worth it. Other campgrounds others in other sites had stayed said they moved to this campground to avoid the full time resident. Playground is nice, they serve pizza if you want to order. Bathrooms and showers were awesome. Only negatives is it's a ways out from civilization and they need a hot tub.

The LuckyPenny Guy
For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Really nice KOA
Great bath house!
Stickers are everywhere so we only let our dog out in the dog runs. No grass without stickers. Some folks use a leash, some don't! One of the guys that works there let's his black lab run free.
My biggest problem was the rock roads. Sharp stones, hard to walk on without shoes. Can't walk on the grass because of the sticker. It was hard for me being disabled to walk.
WiFi worked best at the main building.

For KOA Holiday Carlsbad: Very nicely maintained park and friendly people. Spacious sites. Hookups all worked except wifi. Biggest downfall was the burrs in their plant areas. My dog got burs in his feet every 5 minutes walking. Finally only walked on gravel. Park 20 miles from town of Carlsbad then another 15 miles from there to caverns. Not that convenient a location so would probably not stay again.
