For Ponderosa/Maverick - Cimarron Canyon State Park: NM State park is inexpensive but poorly maintained.Minimal space and privacy for $10 a night w/o hookups. The sites are overused and the paving is falling apart. The bathrooms are barely clean. The sites are very crowded with lots of big RV’s squeezed in. Camphost was very nice and accommodating. The area is pretty to drive or bicycle through. The trails are poorly maintained.

For Ponderosa/Maverick - Cimarron Canyon State Park: CG on south side of highway has all pull through sites. No electrical or water hookups. Sites around edge of circular parking area have picnick tables and fire pits. The southern spots are reservation and the northern ones are first-come first-served.
CG on the north side of the highway has far more individual sites with privacy. Had a hard time finding a site that I could easily back my 26BH trailer into. West sites are reservation sites and east sites are first-come first-served.
Stayed in the CG on the south side of the highway.

For Ponderosa/Maverick - Cimarron Canyon State Park: Busy state park. Friendly host on our visit. It was quiet.
