For Queen Elizabeth Territorial Park: We were looking for a place to stay that would be convenient to points of interest and hiking in Forth Smith and the northern section of Wood Bison NP. We're self contained and don't use the facilities except for an occasional shower. We stayed on weeknights in mid-July in our 8 metre (25 foot) MH. This is a beautiful campground on the edge of Fort Smith. The staff is helpful and friendly. The CG is clean and meticulously maintained. With a new loop, there are now 24 campsites. All are pull-throughs with 15 amp service. All are large, flat, level, gravel and relatively private with a mix of sun and shade. The showers are clean with ample hot water and pressure. There's potable water and a dump station near the entrance. There's no wifi at the sites (there may be at the office, we didn't check). We had good ATT and Verizon service while roaming on the local service. The CG is 2.5 miles from the center of Fort Smith. There's a multi-use path from the CG to town (map available at CG office) which goes along the Slave River with views of the Rapids of the Drowned. The Slave River in the area is well known to paddlers for the rapids. (Maps to viewpoints for the 4 rapids are available at CG office.) The Northern Life Museum is nice. The Wood Bison Visitor Center is in the center of Fort Smith. The staff is helpful and there're exhibits about the park. The CG is 31 km (20 miles) from the Salt River hiking trailheads and 46 km (30 miles) from the Salt Plains Viewpoint in WBNP.
