For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Lazy River: Recently, we camped here for a week. We don’t ever post negative reviews like this. The last day, we experienced a violent attack by a very large and aggressive Pit Bull. The Pit Bull did not have a collar or a leash and was accidently let out of the RV to roam free and unsupervised. It immediately ran to our site (4 sites away) and attacked our dog that was tied at the time. The incident was unprovoked. While trying to save our dog, my wife and I were also attacked. The wounds were serious enough to require emergency transport to a hospital for treatment including stitches. All we could think of was what might have happened if our granddaughter had been playing with our dog. To put it mildly, their existing pet policy is grossly lacking. They never checked what breed of dog or ask to see documentation of shots when we were registering. Yogi Bear Jellystone Park needs to better manage their pet policy to address aggressive dog breeds and ensure the safety of campers. We camped there for seven days and saw multiple sites have more than one large dog, which in many places we’ve camped at would have been banned due to breed type or size. We have RV’ed extensively across the US and have never seen such careless enforcement of a pet policy regarding aggressive dog breeds. Seriously, think about avoiding this park if you have pets or small children.

Christmas

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Lazy River: It was a very nice campground, but it had more activities than I wanted to pay for. If you have kids I’m sure most would enjoy everything they have to offer. The older section of the campground has some nice shade trees. The brand new section is kind of terraced in to the hill side so most campsites have a nice view across the valley and currently have a good satellite view if you have a dish. All the campsites seem to have some space around them so we didn’t feel that your neighbor could pass you the ketchup without getting out of their chair. They do have tv hook ups at every site, but we are used to having our regular channels so we are used to on our satellite and we have the option to record what we want and skip the commercials. They campground is larger than we enjoy, but that does allow them to provide a lot of extras. Lots of campers were using golf carts to get around. We enjoy getting into a more natural area when we camp so for us the golf carts were a negative, but for those that enjoy them it would be a plus. We were in the new section and I can’t believe that they have a high pipe coming out of the sewer hookups. It was so high that I only dumped my grey water and I had to lift the hose up to drain the water in to the pipe. I looked at other sites next to mine and unless you have a very high trailer you might have the same problem. I was happy that I had flipped my axis on our RV prior to the start of our trip (it raised my rig about 6”) if I hadn't my the bottom of my holding tank would have been below the sewer drain pipe. The staff was friendly but gave me a quote that was figured on the weekday rate instead of the weekend rate. I thought about complaining but I thought it was an honest mistake. They The other good and bad news is that we wanted to spend some time in Hyde Park. It was about a 40 min. drive on a windy not direct road. We looked at some campgrounds that were closer, but we still felt this was the best choice even though it was a long drive. My three star rating was due to being too large, high sewer pipe, the golf carts and that I was paying a lot for activities that I didn’t participate in.

Chris

For Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Lazy River: We spent 6 days here during a very hot week in July and had a wonderful time. Our 2 and 4 year olds loved the pools and water park. There is a tiki bar in the pool area that serves drinks and basic food like chicken fingers and fries. The mini golf and hayrides were included in the rate but we did pay extra to attend Yogi Bear's birthday party. We reserved a "Premium River Site" which were deep sites with a shallow river running behind the site with a large field in front of the site. Our stay was Sunday to Friday as we heard the weekends can get quite busy. The park was very clean and they picked up trash from the sites frequently. The only negative thing I can say is the 11AM opening of the pool/water park area seemed late.
