For Barber Homestead Park: Mike and Cheryl here. We have a 44 foot Class A RV. Here is my review of Barber Homestead Park Campground. The campground is near the small town of West Port. There are several ways to access the campground. We exited the interstate and drove under a low bridge in the town with no problems. West Port is a pretty small town with no chain restaurants and not even a dollar store. Must travel 15 minutes to Elizabethtown for groceries. The road inside the park is gravel and in good condition. The office was open and the people were super friendly. They make sure you get to your site and check in daily to see that all is good. The store has a few basic things you would need. The campground is largely seasonal campers. The seasonal campers are generally in OK condition. They have an area of about 2 rows in the middle of the campground for the traveling camper like us. Most are pull thrus. Most are 50 amp full hook up. The sites are gravel and all seem to be fairly level. All have a fire pit and table. The sites are reasonably spaced. We had site 25 which was nice. This was an end site with big trees and lots of room. There is no real good views from any of the 2 rows of available sites. The bathhouse was open and very nice. The laundry was open and was nice and clean. They have a beach area on Lake Champlain which is mainly rocks, but it is nice. They have one garbage bin and one recycle bin. Most sites have no type of shade. They have Wifi which is limited on signal strength. No cable TV. We did get a few local channels on the antenna. There is no road noise. I feel sites 41 to 47 have a little more spacing than 25 to 28. Sites 25 and 47 are my top picks. We would go back if in the area.

For Barber Homestead Park: A hidden jewel for sure. Stayed four nights, Monday thru Thursday, shortly after NY started opening up campgrounds as a result of COVID-19. The place was VERY quiet, it was almost as if we had the place to ourselves. There is a short path that leads down to Lake Champlain and my dogs loved the water. It’s a sandy/rocky small beach area....no mud, which was nice. The showers and restrooms were spotlessly clean....the best I’ve ever been in from a cleanliness standpoint. One really nice feature in the showers is the paper, throw away, matts provided for when you get out of the shower. I’ve never seen this at any other campground, ever, and it’s a great thing. The swimming pool, though small, is very refreshing. Friendly staff. Beautiful location but because of COVID-19 not that much to do in the way of eating out, shopping, etc. I’m sure when things get back to normal all that will change. I’d definitely come back here. The only real downside I have with the place is the number of seasonal campers in the campground. For me it’s more of a pet peeve of mine, I generally Don’t like campgrounds with a large number of seasonal campers.....but that’s just me. Despite that I still rate the campground a solid 5 stars

For Barber Homestead Park: A solid five stars. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet, and friendly place to just relax, this is the place. If you like lakes AND mountains, this is the place. The owners run a first class operation.
