For Wright Patterson AFB FamCamp: This is our second stay at this famcamp, and we have stayed at many. Drove up for a week at Camp Perry and made a u-turn to come back the 3 hrs to WPAFB because we prefer the amenities here on base. We evacuated during hurricane Irma from FL and arrived very late to base, no reservation. Although it was very dark and late (after 8pm) I located the office easily and called the posted phone number. Vicki was friendly and sent Larry to greet us and help us find dry camp and get setup. They emphasized that if we needed anything just to give a call. The office is immaculate and has an awesome game room for our kids. Tetherball, horseshoe, tons of grass to run around. All new picnic tables, and paved sites... we will definitely continue to return. Our second visit we were able to book easily over the phone and Vicki tell us availability and site numbers ahead of time even though she was working remotely - not a hiccup! So efficient. So many military RV parks are first come, first serve, wait and see when you get there .... how stressful when traveling with kids - WPAFB famcamp is doing it right. Thanks for taking good care of our family! Can't wait to try the paddle boats and play with the kids on the grounds.

For Wright Patterson AFB FamCamp: We spent 21 days on the road in August and the family camp on Wright Patterson in Dayton Ohio was by far the best camp we stayed in. The campground was beautifully kept and the restrooms and showers were spotless.
We were delayed and arrived late. The commissary was closed, we had planned to pick up groceries there. We had just picked up the RV that afternoon. We had no food and it was getting dark. The camp hosts took us under their wing, got us to our site and one of them drove us to Walmart to grab a few essentials.
We had been unsure what kind of reception we, a lesbian couple, were going to receive but they couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
It's a beautiful and well managed camp. I wish we could have stayed longer.

For Wright Patterson AFB FamCamp: I was just sitting here this morning drinking my morning coffee at the Fam-camp at Maxwell Air base in Montgomery Alabama. I found Bidred250 comments interesting. When we arrived here yesterday around noon there was no camp host to greet us, no map and I don't even know if we have Wi-fi in the park. Over our last 15 yrs of being on the road and visiting over 80% of the fan-camps it's very rare that we are greeted by a host and escorted to our site. The military isn't in the business of operating camp grounds like a KOA they are in the business of safe guarding America. The Fam-Camp at WPAFB isn't perfect but over the last 4 years as improved 100%. After spending 26 years in the Army and being dropped out of planes in remote locations I'm quite capable of finding my assigned spot that was given to us when I made our reservation. When you arrived out the park it spells out there is a sign that states if host not available to call the number posted for assistance. I guess that would of took effort on your part to read the sign. You said you spoke with Nick oh by the way he's not a supervisor he's a host just like the other 2 you mentioned, you didn't say if you voiced your concerns to him about your issues did you???. It's easy to get on here and point out the bad things you encountered during your visit when you should of addressed during your stay. If you are not able to locate your spot oh by the way are all marked maybe you shouldn't be driving a RV. Some folks you just can't please not sure what you expect for 20 dollars a night. Maybe they should wash and wax your rig and walk your dog for you also. There's a lot of positive comments on this site about the facilities and the host that operate it I believe your comments might be more personal in nature. So I'm sure they will continue to provide great customer service in the future. Vic, Nick, and Larry I'm not sure if you read these post but keep up the good work. And for Bidred250 pick up a phone and call the camp ground and voice your concerns, give them a chance to explain what might or might not have happened. Let me know when you find that perfect Fam-Camp we can go visit.

For Wright Patterson AFB FamCamp: Stayed at the Fam-Camp Sep 14-16 2017 to run in the marathon. Upon my arrival I was met by Vicki who escorted us to our site. Beautiful campground, facilities were well maintained bathrooms appear to be cleaned daily. Because it was marathon weekend we had to stap in the overflow water and electric only. Needed to dump after we set up and ask Larry for assistance he brought us over a blue tote to dump and helped pull back and forth to the dump station. This is our fourth year staying at this Fam-Camp and by far was the best. The staff does a great job in maintaing this camp ground.
