Retiree
For Mikisew Provincial Park: A former private campground, it was taken over by the Ontario Provincial Parks--I believe in the late 1960's. The older part of the park is lakeside and several sites provide beautiful views of the lake. These sites in this section are well-spaced with undergrowth between them offering privacy. The newer section provides drive-thru sites. This area is in a stand of older trees with little undergrowth between sites.
There are mainly vault toilets and a comfort station with showers in each area. There are nice trails, a group campground, clean beaches, and a dog beach. Boaters should be cautioned that the lake is full of shoals and shallow shoals and rocks.
I would definitely recommend this campground!
