For Family Camp - Nehalem Bay State Park: Absolutely the best state park. Location is fantastic - right next to a dune and ocean. Very quiet & even though we don’t have kids, it is a kid friendly campground. Clean & set up so easy access to the bathrooms. Lots of trees so neighbors aren’t on top of one another except for monster RVs. Checking was a bit hectic since folks are lined up starting at4 PM but staff handled check in calmly & super pleasant. Definitely would stay there again.

For Family Camp - Nehalem Bay State Park: Verizon LTE is three to full bars. The fog/mist reduced the visibility to maybe a 1/4 mile. Deep sand on the trail to the beach. Paved sites with little privacy. Older shower house and restrooms which I didn’t use. Excellent playground for the little ones. Another nice Oregon State Park.

For Family Camp - Nehalem Bay State Park: Fantastic park with easy access to the beach. The sites do not have a lot of privacy but the neighbors were all pretty quite. The facilities were very clean with showers. There was a nice playground for the kids near the restrooms. The campsite was protected from the beach by a large sand dune which is good for wind protection but removes any view of the ocean.
The beach by the park is very long and wide open. Fantastic area for kids and dogs.
There are grocery stores and restaurants very close by if interested.

For Family Camp - Nehalem Bay State Park: Big park, very clean, lots of sites available on a Rainy October weekend. Beautiful wide beach with dunes, you could walk for miles! Windy, though. Sites were pretty close, no privacy, but neighbors were quiet.
I'd stay here again.

For Family Camp - Nehalem Bay State Park: We love to be at the beach when a storm hits, Storm Watchers at heart! We stayed there on a very busy weekend, almost all the campsites were full, that same weekend a huge storm hit the Oregon coastline.
We were safely tucked away in our big 1150 Silver Fox camper the night it hit, torrential down pour and high 75 mph winds violently shook the camper all night long.
In the morning after thing seamed to calm down, I got up to make coffee, and opened the curtains.
It looked as if a bomb had gone off! I saw the majority of surrounding tents had collapsed down upon sleeping bodies, outlining them with puddles of standing water being held by their own tents.
What's life without a good adventure?
