For Twin Shores Camping Area: Our first time on Prince Edward Island we decided to try Twin Shores Camping Area. We were glad we did. Our site 306 was located on the mostly treeless Basin side of the campground with good water views. When all the sites were occupied over the holiday weekend our view was eclipsed, but the location was still nice. The Gulf side of the campground is forested and much closer to the beach. The Basin sites are grass, well maintained, and nearly all are level. The campground is well staffed, well organized and tidy.
There were plenty of activities for kids and amenities including an arcade, playgrounds, ball fields, basketball and tennis courts. Bring bicycles to get around camp. There was a camp store and two snacks facilities. One, Beach Treats, located near the beach, offered tables under a covered patio. The Cafe offered the best WiFi and was located over the laundry. The WiFi hotspot we used in the Basin section actually worked. Only one device per campsite was allowed to connect, which is probably why the WiFi hotspot worked. The Verizon signal was good to very good. While there we scouted Cavendish National Park campground, and the Cabot, Jacques Cartier, and Cedar Dunes Provincial Park campgrounds. Twins Shores was the best. Until June 24 they offer a 50% discount off their CAD$50 rate. We'll be back.
