For KOA Journey Charlotte Fort Mill: I stopped in to just dump a Class B I had been using for family. Campground office is in gas station. Staff covered gas station and KOA. Dump cost $20 despite having KOA rewards card. Not what I expected from a KOA.

Fran

For KOA Journey Charlotte Fort Mill: We planned months ahead of time to stay at this KOA to be near family. We arrived to find we were assigned to a spot already occupied and given a straight gravel path up against a fence with no table etc. and charged for an upgraded ‘pull-through’ site. The manager was unyielding in making accommodations in the site or price. Unfair treatment cannot be overcome by other site amenities. We will not be staying here again

For KOA Journey Charlotte Fort Mill: Enjoyed the site, lots of room, pool was great and very easily located to carowinds. Great location. Stayed two nights here .. everyone was very nice . Parking at the gas station was not a big deal and you are far enough away from the gas station and bar that you can't hear them or even see them from your campsite.

Tony

For KOA Journey Charlotte Fort Mill: This KOA was quite convenient for all of my needs. Easy access to grocery and other shopping. The facility has a nice swimming pool. The rest rooms and shower facilities were very clean. The sites and property in general are very nicely maintained. The staff were all very helpful and courteous .
With the site having a gas station and store was an additional benefit. The bar was great to have on site for entertainment. Great friendly bartenders and local patrons made it very comfortable for me.

Andy

For KOA Journey Charlotte Fort Mill: As per the previous reviewer, parking and walking over to the gas station to check in was a bit of a drag but not that big of a deal. However, there's a small office on the campground where you would check in during normal business hours when it's not off-season. The bar right next to the gas station didn't appear to serve any food which was a bummer as we were looking forward to going there to eat after checking in, but that's obviously not KOA's fault. But there was a supermarket (Publix) within close walking distance so we were able to stock up there.

Otherwise it was fairly peaceful and wooded despite being situated basically in the middle of town. There were some trails in the woods that were nice for walking the dogs.

All in all it wouldn't be my top pick for a campground but at the same time would stay there again.

Phil Hatton

For KOA Journey Charlotte Fort Mill: Good and bad...we had a nice level site, quiet but still close to the interstate, very nice new bathhouse. Many sites are paved with concrete pads. The campground during our stay seemed to be well cared for.

Unfortunately, the campground is not the only business on the site. There is a convenience store/gas station/bar where the check in is located. You have to park your rig, then walk across a road and parking to check in, or at least we did when we arrived at 8:00pm. The bar adds some noise and take away from the peacefulness of the area. And, as usual for a KOA, it is more expensive ($40 for one night in a full hookup site) and the sites are close together.

Having said that, we would stay here again. We camp in a motorhome.
