For KOA Mount Rushmore: A great KOA with all of the amenities you could imagine. Sites were clean snd met our need. Plenty of showered and bathrooms and they were also well kept. WiFi was terrible in the back part of the park, so had to go towards the entrance to get service. We use Verizon and there was no service around this park. I’d stay again to enjoy the surrounding beauty of the black hill mountains.

For KOA Mount Rushmore: It’s a campground and not a Starbucks. If you want amazing WIFI go elsewhere, if want a top notch campground just minutes from the monument, this is your spot!

For KOA Mount Rushmore: If you want a ton of activities for kids and family this is the place. Water park. Trail riding. Car and ATV rentals. Restaurants. Tap room and much more. Be advised if you want peace and quiet though, this is not the place.

For KOA Mount Rushmore: It was a great place as many have said. But no WiFi or a phone signal makes me give it this rating. They claim they have WiFi but it’s non existent. If you want tons of kids and close proximity to your neighbors then this is the place for you!

For KOA Mount Rushmore: Stayed for two nights while visiting Mount Rushmore. This place is a KOA resort, which I had never seen before. There are restaurants on site, a heated pool, mini-golf, bike rentals, a gigantic kid fun zone and tons of scheduled family activities including movies and campfires. They have a number of people working there as rec staff and they were great with the kids. It is also the most expensive place I've stayed yet, at $90 per night after the resort fee and our dog fee. Having said that, the kids had an absolutely incredible time and it was money well spent for that alone. As an RV park, it was only okay. The sites are VERY close together and it feels tight. The roads and sites are kind of gravel and kind of dirt and become red mud when it rains. Although it does tend to dry quickly, there were huge puddles in the road that never dried and I did get splashed by passing vehicles while walking the dog, which wasn't a lot of fun. It is very convenient to Mount Rushmore and is a blast if you have kids. If you don't, there's no real reason to stay there.

For KOA Mount Rushmore: Stayed here for 9 nights. PROS: Huge campground. Beautiful scenery all around. Geared for kids, Kids Zone is really nice. Kids used the water slide (not heated) Heated pool and hot tub both very nice. Playground, giant chess/checkerboards were fun. Jumping pillow lots of fun too! Movies for kids every night. They have a schedule of kids fun for every day of week! Deluxe patio sites looked very level (did not use due to so expensive) Husband and son very much enjoyed their nice bike trails that go through campground. Laundry room very nice. $2.50 to wash a small load. Dryers .50 for 15 minutes. They have 2 restaurants which both were nice. Coffee/wine place looked nice but didn’t go. CONS: Campsites are tiny, I mean the smallest I’ve ever camped in over 20 years! If you are in trees sites are EXTREMELY unlevel as entire tree sites area is on hills. People riding bikes had to walk their bikes out of this area to even be safe to ride! Wasn’t sure our 27’ was even safe as much wood as we needed to level the camper! (Maintenance was very kind to loan us extra wood we needed on top of what we bring!) Saw large rigs with both front wheels 4’ off ground!! Showers were adequate but very dirty. Use shower shoes! The entire campground is in a large valley. Our Sprint phones had ZERO cell service. And despite “WiFi advertised” there was ZERO connection for our entire stay. Also, didn’t realize our phones were roaming constantly until we got a message from Sprint saying we had used our entire month of roaming in literally 4 days. (Unlimited coverage does NOT cover roaming in small print FYI) so I advise you turn off your roaming unless you need it! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and spent 8 of our 9 days out doing the tourist things, basically sleeping in camper at night. We stayed one day to relax and had a great day. I’d suggest asking for site NOT in trees. Definitely lots of fun if you have kids!

For KOA Mount Rushmore: This is a resort/ family campground with lots of kid activities..pool, games, horses etc. Good location for Mt Rushmore. Most of the sites are on gravel or grass and are very small and close together. Site can have full hookups but no cable and almost no air tv. Bathrooms are located throughout the park, ours was dirty. There is places to eat in the campground but friends had dinner that was not good. If you are traveling without kids you may want to pick another campground.
