For KOA Journey Amarillo: It was an ok Koa not special. Gravel sites close together. People are friendly and the bathroom was clean. There’s a child tax so 67 for a single night was a bit too much for my liking had I have known the price before hand I would have just boondocked.

For KOA Journey Amarillo: Gravel site (pull thru #85) took very little to level the trailer. I only used the 30 amp service. Nicely stocked store. Spotlessly clean showers and bathroom. When I decided to stay another night and wait out snows in NM and Colorado, Diana at the front desk understood and was very helpful. It wasn’t at all crowded, maybe 10 campers in my area, so it didn’t present a problem for her. Some train and aircraft noise but it subsided at night and didn’t keep me awake. I would stay here again.

For KOA Journey Amarillo: Stayed here in 09/2017. Labor Day weekend and we didn't have a problem getting a spot.
Staff was friendly and the sites where spacious. The only negatives were them being sandy gravel in windy Amarillo. The facilities were clean and very nice, especially the pool, playground and dog park.
Everything in Amarillo is easily accessible, which is good and bad — train and plane noise was very common. Kinda pricey but not necessarily for a KOA.
Cell service was great if occasionally oversaturated on the weekend:
Verizon 5 bars, 20Mbps down
AT&T 5 bars, 40Mbps down

For KOA Journey Amarillo: Overnight stop for us. Warm and friendly greetings from staff. Had not called ahead on this Labor Day weekend so glad they could accommodate our 24ft Leisure Travel. Very level gravel site. Beautiful pool we wish we had time to use. Well stocked store. Excellent bathrooms. So enjoyed the beautiful horse from the farm next store who was so very friendly. Wish we had had a treat for her. Thank you to the owners for the coffee service available.

For KOA Journey Amarillo: A little older KOA, So gravel sites and a little close. But have stayed at other KOA that sites were just as tight unless you pay for a premium spot. Host were helpful and even set up the free limousine ride to the Big Texan. Not having to unhook is a great option. Do you hear trains, yes but not all night and no freeway noise. Would stay again when passing through Amarillo

For KOA Journey Amarillo: Just an average park and not up to most KOA standards. The people in office were really nice, the grounds were clean, and there was an ok dog park. The laundry room was clean with good machines. The part of the park we were in had narrow spaces and a table. No trees or nice area to hang out outside of motorhome. They are in need of a lot more gravel so it was really dusty. The train, plane and highway noise was tough to take on the nights we were there. I would look for another place the next time we come through.
