For Rio Grande Village Campground - Big Bend National Park: When reading review please take into consideration we are the sort of people who prefer being away from everything. Do not be confused with the Rio Grande Village concessionary campsite which is $33 a night for 2 people and basically is a car park with small spaces, but full hook up! For the National Park site turn left at the Rio Grande Village and go about 1/2m. On the way is a free dump site and fresh water for all on the left just past the petrol station. Fill up with fuel on the I10 as 75c a gallon more in Big Bend and also the towns below the I10!(There is free wi fi outside the Rio Grande Village shop with tables to sit at and in the shop entrance there is a launderette as well.)
Sites available are from being secluded in the trees (drive around the far end) to more open. Go and look for your site and then return to self pay station ? $12 a night. Great place to stay and empty your dump tanks. Site very clean and looked after. We had a large site surrounded by trees, BBQ fire wood pit, shaded picnic table and lots of Roadrunners! Make sure you go to the view point above the site at sunset and the hot springs just before Rio Grande to soak in the water next to the fast flowing Rio Grande.

For Rio Grande Village Campground - Big Bend National Park: Nice campground. Lots of trees but no leaves in January. Seems there were more cottonwood stumps than cottonwoods. Some sites along the east side of the campground were completely surrounded by trees, but we opted for a site with partial sun. Good hiking in the park and it's an easy hike to see the sunset from the top of a small ridge near the campground.
