For Potters Creek Park: We stayed here July 8-10 of 2022. The part was really nice. Gate staff was friendly. I didn't experience anything that the other reviews did. No issues with the gate attendant at all. Our spot was clean and level right one the water in L2. The restrooms were clean and our 7 year old said they seem like Minecraft. They kind of do. The beach area was clean the first day but the second day a bunch a beer cans (5-6 of them) were on the shore but I witnessed a fellow camper grab them and clean the up before I could get to them. Also one camper decided to leave their canopy on the beach for multiple days which from the way I read the rules wasn't allowed but the second day it was still there this time to blew across the beach and broke but they came and set it up again. Dump station was clean and easy to use. Had a flush hose attached with back flow preventer. Only issue was the black top at the campsites made the ground radiate heat but again we were there when it was 108F.

For Potters Creek Park: Great campground! We stayed at a nice sunny site by the water and were able to kayak right from our site. Other sites have shade. Gate closes at 9:00 but you can park and walk to site after 9:00. All the people working at the gate were friendly and helpful. New grills and fire rings being put in.

For Potters Creek Park: - Potter creek COE at Canyon Lake is an absolute delight- large shaded sites or lake front w sun, however each site has a large covered picnic table, grill and fire ring. We were site 81 which was perfectly level, shaded w view of the lake. Nice grassy area all around w lots of space. Only con is gates are locked at 10PM, no code to open, and only way in then is a very long walk (we stayed at a hotel one night because had to return because I left my purse at restaurant. No way back by 10). . Plus so much to do in the hill country of TX. Great centralized location. Check in at 3, not before!

For Potters Creek Park: I recently rated this park but now have more information to add for those that might be interested. I spoke with willing workers/Volunteers as I was getting ready to leave the park Tuesday morning. It seems that the power issue with multiple sites was over a month old. Every time a camper checked into one of those sites the on site volunteers had to deal with it which meant suggesting that the camper use a dog bone and plug into the working 30-amp outlet. It seems that they only have one "qualified" electrician for multiple COE Parks in the area and this problem never reached a concern level for the offsite manager to direct that it be fixed. OK on to the next issue that is discussed multiple times by others submitting reviews and that has to do with the 3PM check in......Keep in mind that this is a PARK MANAGEMENT issue as well, all willing worker at the gate can do is follow guidance provided by park management. I have a clue as to why they have that policy. Potters Creek is a campground not a day use park.....a big note on the office door makes that clear. Because it is NOT a day use park there is no overflow parking area in the park. All the space they have available for RV's/Vehicles to park is on the narrow park roads. When a camper enters the park they have to go to their site because there is no other place to go unless it would be to ride around in circles. Now, why the front gate does not know what sites are vacant is another issue, but as with the other issues it is a campground management decision....as we all know that is is easy to know which sites are vacant since volunteers roam the park for whatever reason. I hopes this helps understand what the problems are. Willing workers hands are tied. They have to do what park management directs them to do.

For Potters Creek Park: Potters Creek COE Park is difficult to apply the star rating to. It has many good to great points, but the GOVERNMENT manager of this place is simply horrid. Let me explain. I had reservations for 4-days, I checked in (no hassle, but I did arrive after 3PM) when I got to my site the 50-amp outlet did not work, but the 30-amp outlet did. This was on a Friday afternoon....obviously after 3PM. Of course I voiced my concern/displeasure. There was only the volunteer on the front gate to discuss anything with. The "Park Manager" is in another location. The maintenance man had the weekend off, then on Monday the "Park Manager" a Civil Service worker, directed the repairman work on other things. Willing worker (volunteer) at the gate assured me that she had discussed the electric issue with said "Park Manager". Several other points, the electric problem was not just with my site but multiple sites and the problem had been known for days. Willing worker did all she could do for us. The entire problem was the "Park Manager". Yes, we spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday without our 50-amp supply and afternoon temperatures on Monday afternoon were in the low to mid 90's. This could easily be a 5-star with another Park Manager.

For Potters Creek Park: This is actually a very nice campground IF you can maneuver through the concertina wire and the NAZI checkpoint to get in. But know that YOU VILL NOT ENTER BEFORE 3PM (Sgt Shultz voice). It doesn’t matter if your site is empty, VE VILL ENFORCE ZEE RULES!!

For Potters Creek Park: We checked in to Potters Creek Campground at exactly 3:00 pm today. Don’t try to check in before 3:00. Mr. Beecher, the rude volunteer at the front office, will tell you the CHECK-IN TIME IS 3:00! We have camped at many Corps of Engineers campgrounds and never encountered someone so totally disagreeable. We also have never been told to wait until check in time if our spot was available (ours was). Had we not had to forfeit $10 and the first night’s rent we would have cancelled our reservations and gone elsewhere. We asked him if there was some place we could park until 3:00, and he said, “You can’t park on the Corps of Engineers property. Go out the gate and park up the road somewhere. oothecalWhen we were fnally able to check in at 3:00. we asked for a map of the park and were told we could look at theirs and take a picture of it. There was a woman in the office who I assume was his wife, who was equally rude. I finally said, “What is wrong with you people?” Her answer was, “We’re the only ones who follow the rules.” If this is the Corps idea of how to treat customers, something is very wrong here. We will never camp at this park again and I advise others to avoid it as well. The one star I gave this park is because it’s a very nice oark, except for the staff.
