For Castroville Regional Park: I solo tent-camped here near the end of a 10-day bike tour of the Texas Hill Country. The grass at the tent camping sites was soft and green. The sites were level. The sites are situated among some nice, big trees. There's a pole with at least four electrical outlets available for campers. There's at least one water spigot available to cover the tent sites too. I slept well here but I would have preferred if there was less light from the couple of light poles nearby. One RV in the RV park was very loud. There is a bathroom at the RV park that campers can use. It has one shower stall, which needed to be cleaned and the shower curtain needed to be replaced. The shower head was also pretty lousy but there was plenty of hot water. The RV park also has a laundry room and a (propane?) grill. You can reserve a site online and tent camping was only $10, which is a good deal. It's a nice park and I'd stay here again if I pass through Castroville.

For Castroville Regional Park: Park is overpriced. No longer accepts Passport America. Nightly rate of $45 seems excessive for a RV park with hardly any service in this part of the country.

For Castroville Regional Park: Close to San Antonio and a pretty decent place to stay. Spilt into two areas, one like a real RV park (seemed to be mostly for people living there) and the other is like a parking lot. We stayed in the parking lot area and the park was full. The county park the RV park is in is quite nice with lots of wildlife and hiking trails. Was very quiet at night. For the price, you won't find many better places to stay near San Antonio.

For Castroville Regional Park: Wonderful overnight stay! Very quiet. Would have stayed on for a few days but the hurricane rains sent us on our way. In the evening, the deer came right up, probably 20 or so. Our dogs weren't bothered a bit. The campground host was very kind and informative. We highly recommend this park, it is actually a city park, so there is a lot of walking area, play equipment, and is right in a little river. Wish we could have stayed, maybe next spring.
