Wandering Sandals
For Castle Rock - Fremont Indian State Park: We stayed at Castle Rock Campground overnight for $20/night. Our site#11 meant for camp host but became available during our visit. This graveled site needs little bit of leveling, but the water and sewer hookups are great. Take head to remove water supply line and store in your trailer/RV for it will frozen solid overnight. Most sites are pull-thrus, few back-ins and double sites. There were lots of Indian petroglyphs to be found in the area and the visitor center even has museum, short introduction movie and trail map to find the beautiful Fremont & Paiute Rock arts whereabout. Bathroom is just short walk from our site. Both sink and toilet (no shower) are clean and functional. No WiFi but LTE signal strong enough. No OTA TV channels. Other primitive sites just $15/night, a bargain for great view and clean bathroom. Will stay again if pass thru this way.

For Castle Rock - Fremont Indian State Park: A hidden gem. We rolled in late at around midnight in late June and woke up to find our campsite #13 was by a small oasis by s stream. The campsites are private and screened by brush. Beautiful views up red rock canyon walls. Cost was $15 for camping. $30 for a couple of spots with tepees. Lush, but with beautiful desert landscape.
The bathroom has running water, mirrors, soap, paper towels and is clean and has lots of room.
We will be back!
