Venom

For Misty Mountain Camp Resort: One night stopover passing through with a 40’ 5’er. Close to the Interstate, easy in and out. What a gem! Playground, pool, laundry, store, etc. Full hookup price was $57.00 for the night. There are two sections, the one on top of the hill is real woods camping and could be a little challenging for a very large big rig even though there were many large campers up there. The bottom section is priceless with a mountain stream running through it as well as a fishing pond. Many shaded sites are located next to the stream or backing up to it. Quite a few nice local eateries, wineries, breweries close by worth a visit. “Happy Hour” is people taking their camp chairs down to the shaded stream and sitting IN the +- 6 - 12” deep clear running mountain stream chatting and enjoying a cocktail until sundown ! I wanted to stay longer but we had a pre planned schedule to keep. I will go back again.

Julie

For Misty Mountain Camp Resort: Super nice staff and very accommodating! Easy access from interstate. We love Charlottesville so there’s all sorts of things to do from amazing wineries, breweries to great hiking and near Shenandoah National Park. Nice private bathrooms and a great Camp store. Amazing outdoor stage area too!

Connie

For Misty Mountain Camp Resort: Great location if you are wanting to access Shenandoah and Blue Ridge parks. Easy access from I-64. This campground has 2 parts, a lower one with larger and more level campsites & an upper one that is smaller and requires a steep, narrow & curvy climb to get into. That’s where we stayed with our 32-ft fifth wheel & was relieved to have a pullthru ( a small one, but easier to deal with than some of their backups). We were led up the paved road to our site by guy in a golf cart, thankfully! Coming down simply required prayers that no other vehicle would be coming up at the same time! If you have ever complained about rigid check out and check in policies, this is a good reason for them!! We were happy to be up on the mountain rather than on the lower end which was more open (less shaded) and extremely kid friendly with playground Nothing wrong with that if you have kids. Upper campground has several full timers in the park, and several cabins. Despite it being secluded, there was always a lot of coming & going. But very quiet. Mix of tents and RVs as well. Laundry & bathhouse were clean & well kept. Also has a well stocked store with RV related maintenance items and they pick up your trash bag in the morning.

For Misty Mountain Camp Resort: Pros: Beautiful setting and great staff. Great amenities and even provided a Chicken Dinner on Saturday night. Cons: RV are a little too close to each other

Peddling Pooch

For Misty Mountain Camp Resort: We stayed here twice in our previous smaller Airstream (24 ft) on the top section which had a steep climb. There were some walking routes for the dogs but overall we did not hang out at the campground. We were in the area to race Devils Backbone Mtn Cross. Now that devils backbone has own campground we will stay there so we can ride (bikes) from our site and be closer to the brewer and blue ridge pkwy. Doubt we will be back to misty Mtn but it a nice place.

Jaybirdaa

For Misty Mountain Camp Resort: We stand with her 20 foot trailer in the upper section tough time getting in an out. Dead end road not marked well.
