For Ricker Pond State Park: 3 stars for bigger rigs, 5 stars for tents and small rigs. NO CELL COVERAGE AT ALL, FOR ANY CARRIER. PERIOD. You can get no bar reception at the ranger's station only. We stayed here in Mid-September 2019. The place was all but empty. We are in a 35' Class A with toad. There were only 2 spots big enough to accommodate us, and it was down right dangerous to maneuver into the area. The small circle is very tight with trees and culverts. All hazards (like the edges of culverts) are marked with boulders, but they are just big rocks that are difficult to see. We had to back down to the dump station because it's on the wrong side of the road. I'd try and stay elsewhere given my size and the issues for us because of that. Otherwise, the park is excellent. This is an exceptional park for tents and small RV's. Over half the sites are spots with either a lean-to or cabin. Most are right on the pond, and very well spaced and set up. Tents, pop-ups, and small campers will find this area ideal. There is an old rail bed bike trail that goes for miles and miles! For campers larger than about 22ft, there is only a small area available, located about 50ft from the highway, and not easy to get into / out of. There's water, but only at spigots. No hose connections. There's a dump station, but it's on the wrong side of the road. There's rocks that make it hazardous to drive in here and they won't entertain putting any paint on them so you can see them clearly. I felt they put ascetics above the safety of my rig (a small amount of white paint would make all the difference). The facilities are excellent, the entire place immaculate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The pond is a "quiet" pond. This park is part of a larger state area called the Groton State Forest. There are other camp grounds, but watch your open / close dates. We were here in part because the other parks were already closed.

For Ricker Pond State Park: Great forest camping. Trails are amazing and all over around here.
