For Goodell Creek Campground - North Cascades National Park: A quick overnight not using any of the facilities. 3 sites closed for rehab, otherwise nice. Found a couple of open sites. Quiet, secluded and peaceful as it rained all night.

For Goodell Creek Campground - North Cascades National Park: We were looking for a campground that would be convenient to hiking on the western side of the North Cascades National Park. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed for 5 days in August, including a weekend, in our 25 foot MH.
This is a very nice small campground. There's a main CG and 2 remote group sites. The main CG has 21 sites, sites 7-14 are along the Skagit River. The other sites are closer to the North Cascades Highway and get some road noise during the day although there's little traffic at night. The sites are good sized and heavily wooded providing shade and privacy, and few opportunities for solar panels. Many need some leveling. There is no wifi. There's good Verizon and a hint of ATT cell coverage. The CG is clean and well maintained. All sites are first come first served. We arrived late on a Wednesday and found a site. The CG did fill over the weekend. This CG is less than a mile from Newhalem CG which is similar yet larger with more activity. Loops A&B at Newhalem take reservations while Loop C is first come first serve.
Most of the hiking trailheads in NCNP are along the NC Highway. There are several miles of walking trails around Newhalem CG, the NC Visitor Center and the tiny town of Newhalem (convenience store only) accessible from a trail in Goodell CG. Trail of the Cedars was beautiful and includes interpretive signs. The Newhalem chicken dinner, presentation and walk (every Thursday and Friday) was fun.
