For Fairchild AFB FamCamp: We stayed for two days, and that was two days too many. The sites are narrow. The bathroom had no toilet paper, and wasn't clean.
We did manage to find a place for the dogs to walk, but it was scrubland. The laundry room was clean but the dryers didn't work.
A word on the camp host: she's awesome, but she's expected to be on call 24/7, and that's ridiculous. There's no park office.
Dog poop everywhere, disrespectful homesteaders, children running through the campsites. As a veteran, I'm ashamed that this famcamp is associated with the military.
Response from Management:
I'm disappointed to hear you had a questionable experience at Fairchild FAMCAMP last year. I'd like to address a couple of questions for other reviewers. The bathrooms always had toilet paper, as they were checked and cleaned twice daily. In addition, the health department stated they were the cleanest in years. The grassy areas between sites in great for walking little dogs, however outside the campground it is indeed scrubby. However, there are paths that loop around the base for easy walking/running. Two dryers worked all season, we did finally get new machines in October. There were very few children last year, and it was incredibly quiet. I love this campground for that reason alone... I hope you'll give us another shot. - Camphost2016

For Fairchild AFB FamCamp: (I have never stayed at this facility, just offering advice) Fam camp is not much to look at, has a few shaded spots. **The new-ish base commander requires RVs to go through the Rambo gate, which seems to be a recent change. Lame.** $3 dump fee.

BSP
For Fairchild AFB FamCamp: Pros:
- on site campground host, very helpful
- clean, quiet and well maintained
- bath house and laundry are functional and clean
- big rigs will easily navigate the many, pull through, full hook up sites
Cons:
- sites are too close considering the available land
- no playground for the kids
- many "long termers" homesteading the majority of limited sites
Final Thoughts:
I WOULD stay here again. Be forewarned, your picnic/outside eating area will be right on top of your neighbors sewer connection. We learned that it is mandatory for ALL RV's to be searched at the gate before entering the base. Be prepared for this minor delay.
