For Sprague Lake Resort: AVOID! Padlocked gate. Permanently closed. Drove many miles to this cg based on reviews. Area leading up to gate very junky. Reviews have to be fictious.

Brian

For Sprague Lake Resort: We arrived in early April 2020 during the covid time. First the view from lakefront view is breathtaking at sunset. The train that passes by across the lake wasn’t that annoying to us. Frankly we didn’t mind it all. My 3.5yr old loved to see the trains when they did come. It’s a great place to stop if you don’t want to do the city thing in Spokane on your way to Couer D’Alene Idaho. On the positives the wireless was awesome but we were the only people that were there so no idea how much it slows down with other people there. On the negative note prepare to be UPcharged on everything. The woman who runs the place is nice but charged 2 more dollars because we have a 3 yr old. Then another charge for internet, then another charge for sewer. So just be prepared. That’s being said if you takes pics at sunset people will ask you ‘where is that?!’ You don’t need to tell them you were right by the highway in the middle of nowhere. Would give 4 stars despite the train if the upcharging thing wasn’t such a ridiculous thing given we were the only people there. We were at least glad to support the nonexistent local economy.

For Sprague Lake Resort: The little gnats are horrible. They don’t bite but they swarmed us every time we opened our door. The owner wasn’t very friendly. It is a beautiful lake. It’s also quiet as long as you don’t mind trains(I don’t mind) I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to stay here very long. We have a 35’ 5th wheel and had no problem getting into or out of the park.

Mr Salsa

For Sprague Lake Resort: Lakeside camping on Sprague Lake. Lots of fishing, pelicans and birds. Nice dock. Grassy sites with trees for shade. Full hookups. Really nice lady runs the place. And very pet friendly. Other reviews mention mosquitoes, but no—just lots of fish flies and they don’t bite. Great oasis outside Spokane 👍

Meegan

For Sprague Lake Resort: We stumbled upon this sweet little RV park and found a gem! The owner is so sweet; we called ahead and were coming in late; she stayed up, met us and helped us pull in. The site is right on the small lake. I woke up and had my coffee while watching so many cool water birds. Other reviewers have mentioned bugs; there are lots of mosquito-like bugs but they AREN’T mosquitos and don’t bite. Wish we could stay another night and enjoy the lake. (In our RV the occasional train didn’t bother us a bit)

Canadians

For Sprague Lake Resort: The mosquitos were bad, the washrooms reeked, the showers were dirty. You had to pay for wifi and to use the shower.

The nearby trains ran all night, and let me tell you - they are VERY loud. Don't think you'll wake up well-rested here.

Travel627

For Sprague Lake Resort: This place has a beautiful, natural lake view, lots of birds and a friendly owner. The resort appears to have been very lovely at one time but has fallen into disrepair. Campers are "nickeled and dimed" to death. We paid for electrical/ septic /water and by the time we had all the add-ons included once we arrived, we were paying $25 more to over $55. Add-ons included an extra cost for the use of the showers, (dirty, but work well), an extra cost for Wi-Fi (worked well), an extra charge for credit card fees and an extra charge if you want to fish from shore. There is not much else available on this stretch of the road so one night is doable. Trains go by day and night at half hour intervals blowing their whistles at night.
