For KOA Holiday Starbuck Lyons Ferry Marina: An Oasis in the Desert is what my wife would call this place. Friendly people to greet us and show us to our camp site. We had water and electricity on our level, but the other level had full hook ups from what we could tell. This was Father’s Day weekend and it was full most of the time. The office has a cafe that only serves lunch but we did not try it as we cooked our own food. This KOA serves also a very large boat doc for the river so lots of fishing opportunities along the “sea wall†but no swimming. Across the river at the State Park there is a swimming area that is nice with bathroom/showers. All sites appeared to be back in and were very level. Also there were bathroom/shower houses and places to clean dishes but we also did not use them. This was our shakedown trip with our new camper so we were using all our gear to see how it all worked. If you need fuel they did sale 91 octane fuel that I think was mainly for boats and I don’t know what the price was. The town of Starbuck down the road 10 min had a 24 hr fuel pump that took credit cards. All in all was a good place that had a small dark park and playground for the kids!!

For KOA Holiday Starbuck Lyons Ferry Marina: Only RV camping close to Palouse Falls. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice walk to Snake River and Marina. Spaces were very close together. This is a good spot to stop if it's the end of the day and no better place on your itinerary. Loud noisy people above our site and up screaming at 5:30am. Overpriced. KOA attracts a lot children so if you want quiet try elsewhere!

For KOA Holiday Starbuck Lyons Ferry Marina: We stayed here on a Tuesday. The office was the only thing open. The website said the restaurant was open Tuesdays but onsite signs said closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Not up to KOA usual standards for travelers. Electricity and water but the lots were very small and crowded together. They put a teardrop camper right outside our door so we couldn't use our table because it was like being next to a tent--not the other campers' fault. Restrooms and showers were dirty--we showered in our RV. WiFi was poor. Staff person who insisted on directing our parking was rude and not good at directing but insisted we were not allowed to back into lot ourselves. Just a bit better than a parking lot stay because of the electricity for AC on very hot day. We usually really enjoy KOAs but won't recommend and won't be back to this one.

For KOA Holiday Starbuck Lyons Ferry Marina: We stayed here Memorial Day Weekend, in a 24 foot trailer. It's mostly asphalt on a dammed part of the Snake River, with an amazing high train bridge over the dam. Trains going over that are not very noisy, and are a kind of interesting sight, which happens several times a day. There's another train very close by, which seems to run by only once or twice a day, not at night. If you like to fish, or want to visit the Pouse Falls (5 miles away),this is probably a great place to be, and many families seemed to be enjoying themselves, but basically it's in a cul-de-sac, where hiking or biking, even for kids, is pretty limited. The site we had, 16, was really tough to get into, because the sites on the lower tier are situated on a precipice, with very little maneuvering room. It took us 4 or 5 tries to get in, and we've been on the road for a year. If I stayed here again, (which I won't), I'd stay in the tier above, 35-45, which have more room, shade, and the bathroom is closer. There are signs that ask that you use the weird railroad tie stairs, or the paths, but they lead into people's camps, and are steep! You can't get to the bathrooms without walking into other people's camps. The bathrooms were utilitarian, bare bones, but clean, but the showers were so dank and cramped, we didn't use them. There's a cafe, and the people who run it are very nice and helpful.
Our only other complaint is the wifi was pretty much nonexistent, which we don't usually care about, but since Verizon does not get more than 4 dots, extended 1x, we were hoping for decent wifi. It is free, though. Right now, it's 9:50, and the music and dog barking is amping up! Next time I'd definitely go to the more spacious RV camp below here on 261. It's on the river, great host, seems quiet.
