For Beech Fork State Park: To get to the park you have to drive down some winding roads with sharp turns. I was happy to see a park attendant at the entrance to help reserve a campsite. There was also firewood for sale. My family was tent camping and my kids had fun playing at the playground, there were also plenty of other kids running around riding bikes. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen, adequate showers, and laundry facilities. The only downside was that it was the beginning of August, hot, and humid.

For Beech Fork State Park: The journey to this campsite is calm but snug. Mostly uneventful but with a 33 foot fifth wheel we did have to take turns around a tight curve with an approaching Big Rig. The park is quaint and if not for the hum of the water pump in the back loop of the Lakeview Camp it would be the ideal place to spend a few days. Unfortunately the lake was temporarily drained in preparation for a severe storm. We look forward to visiting again for a picturesque lake view. If you are worried about the winding roads take it easy, turn wide, and remember rigs bigger than Yours have enjoyed this campground.

For Beech Fork State Park: OMG Getting into this park was horrible!! Narrow, curvy horrible roads with locals driving like they still don't realize a state park is up here. We spent 2 days here ( the park was pretty) Most of the time we tried to find an alternate route out for our 42 foot fifth wheel. No luck. But when we were leaving at 630 am to avoid the traffic, our camp host was going our way and run escort for us.He was a lifesaver. (Camp host on LAKEVIEW) Big rigs beware!!! Wish we could have enjoyed it more.

For Beech Fork State Park: This campground is huge, with four distinct campgrounds. We stayed in Old Orchard, which had full hookups. I was happy with that because the bathrooms and showers were really dated. I couldn’t tell if they were dirty or just worn. If you don’t need sewer or water, the other campgrounds has bigger sites with better views of the lake for sure. There was laundry and a small store, and some decent hiking and kayaks to rent, so we didn’t leave the park for the three days we were there. The roads were a bit windy going in also.
