For Black Beach - Alcova Reservoir: We were looking for a place to stay in the general area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight in mid-October in our 25 foot MH.
There are 6 CGs at the Alcova Reservoir. We stayed at Black Beach, the first CG on the east side of the reservoir, off County Road 407/Kortes Road. There are 10-12 defined, unnumbered sites on 2 loops. Most are spacious providing privacy and beautiful views of the reservoir. The sites are dirt, surrounded by desert shrubs/bushes. Some are level while others need some leveling. There's not much shade, however, there are picnic shelters at most of the sites. There are trash containers and rest rooms. There's no water. The roads into and around the park are dirt. One section of the road appeared to have rutted deeply after rain/snow, yet was easy to navigate when dry. There's no WiFi. ATT and Verizon cell coverage was good. We had a quiet stay.
There are 2 boat ramps within the CG.
