For Whites Beach Campground: We went to this campground last week with the intention of staying two nights with two of our grandchildren. We left after staying one night. Sadly, this may have been a beautiful place at one time but it has not been cared for. More than half the campground had no water and we were told that it was broken. There were only about a half dozen campers that we could see. Our next door “neighbor†stated that his water pressure was not enough to take a shower or do what he needed. Our pressure was adequate. There were no rubbish barrels, picnic tables or fire rings. We requested and received a picnic table a couple hours after we arrived but only because we asked for one. A fire ring was not forthcoming and, after staying just a few hours, we decided that we would not be there long enough to use the fire ring even if we had one. Again, this is a good sized piece of land and the swimming “pond†was good. Unfortunately, the restrooms had almost no water pressure and had not been cleaned in some time, the snack bar looked as though it hadn’t been open for several years and the campground, basically, was empty. So sad to see a place in this state. We had electrical service but, from what we could see, the 30 amp and the 50 amp were the same outlets. There was nothing for the kids to do so we decided to go home.
