For River Road Camp: Not a great experience for us. Camp is not well maintained. They’ll fit a camper in just about every open square foot of property. Roads not maintained. Camp sites not well defined. Just not a good experience for us. Would not revisit.

For River Road Camp: I have to give the owners a bad review for their policy on refunds and to alert you. They have a 2 night minimum - we called 2 weeks out to cancel since our friends were going to camp elsewhere. The policy is that only one night could be credited for a future stay. My complaint is that we live in Florida and will not be coming back this way. I understand the policy for locals who change reservations and have an opportunity to revisit the campground - but not for folks who live far away. So, to be able to camp with our friends elsewhere we lost $95 to this campground.

For River Road Camp: Great weekend get away. The park host/ owner was very friendly. He was a huge help. Had some ants when we first arrived. We sprayed ant spray over entire site and that took care of them. No sewer hookups. But for a weekend didn't need the sewer. Dump station on site. Very quiet. Rv sites are right on the Guadalupe River. Beautiful location. Road getting to camp ground was a little tight. Love it. Had a great weekend!!

For River Road Camp: The operative word is "camp" as this is not a resort. Camp right on the Guadalupe River, we parked in our site facing the river and only 5' from the bank. The sites have power and water, dump station is up at the road. Very popular place for the locals with excellent tubing, swimming, and fishing. We stayed four days and enjoyed the solitude during the week; weekends were quite busy even in the off season of late September. Minimal services available on site, no pool (swim in the river), the bathrooms were old and run down; need quarters for the showers and no private dressing areas.

Note that the road along the river is narrow, winding, and speed limit is 20 mph for much of its length. It's several miles in either direction to any services. It's very popular with the bicycle crowd riding 2-3 abreast with no passing opportunities. Take it slow and enjoy the scenery.

For River Road Camp: Nice place, especially during the week when fewer people are around. Weekends get a little crazy. Nice place and worth a return.
