For Kulshan Campground: Very disappointed after driving all the way up here to find a gate across the nicer forested camping area, yet there were 3 RVs positioned inside gated area. The sites along PSE’s dike were open as first come first serve. PSE’s buildings and operations for the Dam are on other side of road, so not true to wilderness camping; maybe a good spot for the newby RVer or tent camper. Tried calling to ask why gate up in mid April, but no answer and no call back from my voicemail. No reception with ATt or T-mobile. You have to drive down closer to Hwy 20. There is a parking lot up higher for daytime hikers, with a bathroom. I did not see were any dispersed camping might be, so disappointed as I had read a review from another site that mentioned it.

For Kulshan Campground: We camped here on a sunny Saturday in November. The campground is first come first served year around. $22 per night from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. There are free 23 campsites during off season. Potable water is available at the entrance year around. There were two groups of tent campers and three groups of RV campers including us. The low temperature in the morning was 34 F, slightly above freezing. On Sunday we hiked Baker Lake Trail and enjoyed a great view at Anderson Point.

For Kulshan Campground: I am new to RVing in some ways. I came here on the suggestion from others. It's a first come, first serve campground. It costs $22 a night or $11 if your 55+ or military. Self pay envelope. There are two parts to the campground. A more sunny side and a more shady, tree, side. The sunny side is closer to the boat ramp and closer to the road leading to the boat ramp. The other side has a nice sprinkling of trees that let some sun in but offer what I consider a more "campground" type setting. The spaces are nice sized and easy to get in and out of. I didn't need a pull thru so not sure the options on that. Where I stayed in the trees, there is water and sewer. No power. The are a sprinkling of portable toilets and a main bathroom at the entrance which I didn't use. Their could be some care and attention put into the fire pits which seem to be different sizes and conditions but otherwise, the sites were clean and nice. There's very poor cell coverage here so it's hit and miss if you need to communicate with others.

This is an Update from my previous review which I entered on the first day I arrived at Kulshan Campground which happened to be a Thursday in July. By the next afternoon (Friday), the nice, quiet campground became a free for all, crowded mass of campers and tents. Some people with boats parking at the campsites made it even more crowded. I would have never dreamed how stacked up and crowded it would get since people can spread out all over the place with their tents and there is no real "defined" campsite area for each site. People who come here more than likely want to be fishing on the lake or hanging out at the small area near the lake to swim. There is a beautiful hiking trail that is over a mile up the road over the dam but nothing I knew of near the campground. This was a good first time campsite for me since I am new to RVing and if I were to do it again, I would show up on Sunday and leave on a Friday morning and it would be a good get away area. The sewer and water were great. It looks like the sites will have power one day soon since the sites each have a power stub. Only thing missing is place to plug things in.
