For Horsethief Campground: Great site.. on the way to Island in the Sky (Canyonlands NP) and about 20 miles from Arches NP. Tables, firepits, central trash dumpster, and frequent pit toilets. Far enough off road so little traffic noise. No Reservations, but sites seem to be available every day. Filled up by 5pm in late Sept 2020.

For Horsethief Campground: Beautiful campground. Very spacious spots. Campfire pits and picnic tables. Bathroom was clean, with no running water. Would stay here again!

Chris North Vancouve

For Horsethief Campground: Recently had a great three night stay at Horsethief which is BLM campground very conveniently located for exploring Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point state park. We arrived mid morning and had a good choice of sites, choosing one with an uninterrupted view of the wilderness and the Henry Mountains to the west. There were sites available until mid afternoon most days, and, with a 14 day maximum, there was turnover most days, although we were not there during a busy weekend, when things might be different. There was a range of campers from small tents to some quite large RVs, but it was mostly very quiet with little noise from generators. The Host was very friendly and although no services other than pit toilets (which were good, but not outstanding) the $15 per night is a bargain compared to the nearby Dead Horse Point state park and the camp sites in Canyonlands National Park. Fresh water is available at the Junction of Highway 191 and 128 in nearby Moab. Thoroughly recommended and would go back anytime.

For Horsethief Campground: Juniper and Pinon trees between moderately level gravel sites. Beautiful night sky. Sites 20-30' apart with secured picnic tables and clean metal fire pits with grate. Buy firewood and ice in town. Pit toilets. Camp host but no amenities. Some sites can take a 30' rig. Campers arrive late in the evening as other campgrounds fill. We camped here in a 5th wheel for 3 nights and would stay here again.
