For Great Platt Road Archway Monument: For a free place to park without worrying about the middle of the night knock to vacate, it beats the Walmart parking lot. It’s level, and there was only one other rig. Just wear earplugs to dampen the freeway noise.

For Great Platt Road Archway Monument: I like free, lots of space, grass for the dogs. Pond nearby, noise from freeway but not that bad. Hiking area too. 38 ft 5th wheel. I'll stop again .

For Great Platt Road Archway Monument: Had the whole place to myself all night and there had been zero vacant parking at the last two rest stops on the way. On Sundays the museum doesn't open until noon, so I'll weather this morning snow storm alone.

For Great Platt Road Archway Monument: Great place to overnight if you don't mind noise from I-80. The noise dies down later at night. The parking lot is fairly level and there was ample room as it was just myself and two other rigs.
An added bonus is free wi-fi. I was able to catch up on some things that needed a reliable internet connection.

For Great Platt Road Archway Monument: FYI Just did our overnight parking with JAYCO BHTS TRavel trailer and it was wonderful. Free and quiet. Safe travels!

For Great Platt Road Archway Monument: Arch goes right over the freeway. There is a large set of parking lots where you can park or overnight for free. It seems you can come and go as you want though it is probably a good idea to check in. Besides the arch ($12 regular $11 senior, $6 kids) there seems to be a pioneer or Indian display nearby that is free. The arch is not the attraction in the way St. Louis one is. Inside is a history center of the platt river road, a history of the great migration in the 1800s, and that is the attraction.
