Just a Camper
For Burlington - Humboldt Redwoods State Park: We stayed here one night on our way North. We loved this state park, our favorite in the area. The Redwoods are awesome.
The campground is very basic for $35, but adequate. It is along the road, but there was not much traffic in April (it's close tothe 101, but the campground is next to the scenic Avenue of the giants. So the traffic did not bother us at all. It may be different in the summer.

For Burlington - Humboldt Redwoods State Park: It's a beautiful campground. However, the sites are crammed together and you get to hear the wonderful sounds of highway 101. The highway noise quiets down as the night goes on, but starts back up around 4am. Earplugs are a must if you're a light sleeper. This is a good overnight stop if you're working your way up or down 101. I would not stay here for more than one night.

For Burlington - Humboldt Redwoods State Park: Great place, camp under 200' redwood trees, how many places can you do that? First come, first reserved. Spacious spaces, great informative visitors center. HOT pay showers ($.50 2 minutes) individual shower rooms. The three people I felt with were very professional. Several hiking trails lead from area into Redwoods. If you don't like this you should stay home.

For Burlington - Humboldt Redwoods State Park: Lucked out & got a tent site last minute. Beautiful area but crowded & sites rather close together. Clean baths & pay showers. $35/tent. Wood bundles $8 cash. Recommended.
