For Walnut River Area - El Dorado State Park: Not sure how to rate/review as the Big Oak Camp Site @ Walnut River is nice with lots of Trees for shade so that could rate 4 stars. Bathroom/Showers were run down, filthy with Spiders & Webs in all the Showers etc. No hooks on any walls to hang anything, ( Definitely wasn’t putting anything on floor or top of shower walls) shower head was a PVC end cap drilled full of holes, only had a on & off ball valve to try and adjust water temperature. For such a nice looking park the Bathroom/Showers were in embarrassing condition. We Travel in a Class B so we use Camp ground showers when available and have been in 100’s across the USA and these rank in the top 3 of the worst we’ve experienced

For Walnut River Area - El Dorado State Park: Many campsites, lots with electric/water. Lots of shade. However, facilities are poorly maintained. Although we followed directions at pay station to secure a site after office had closed, officious and cranky campground hostess tried to claim we had underpaid even though we had dropped an envelope with the exact amount the pay station instructed us to submit. Fortunately my husband was able to calm her because I was getting very angry at her suspicion and unwelcoming demeanor. This is not an inexpensive campground ( unless you get a primitive site), and the facilities do not warrant the charges. Showers/restrooms are very dirty. Will not stay here again. Posted prices are $24 + $5 daily use fee for full hookups, $21 + $5 daily use fee for sites w/electric & water, $12 + $5 daily use fee for sites without water or electric.

For Walnut River Area - El Dorado State Park: This is a fabulous campground. We made reservations as we were on the road so we didn’t know what to expect. The gentleman that helped me on the phone was quite knowledgeable about where we should be according to our travel plans. He quickly found a spot, pulled up our info, and we were reserved. Our GPS tried to take us down some gravel roads but we just turned around and kept heading into ElDorado. We had a large, level spot with full hookups under beautiful, big shade trees. Lots to do in the park so I a little sad we are just here for the night. Would highly recommend.

For Walnut River Area - El Dorado State Park: Great place and lots of options for swim, hike, fish, kids play area on and on..... Our spot was perfect, well shaded along Walnut River and private but could visit with neighbors. Most sites are back in, gravel with grass on perimeters. Grand kids had a blast. Staff was very helpful.

For Walnut River Area - El Dorado State Park: Big campground, full hook ups, good 50a service, bummer for me, big sites, but really no pull throughs. I found 1 site in the very back of the middle campground that I was able to pull through. 36'DP with car on a dolly, can't back up with it. Good overnight stay.
