For Lake Ogallala SRA: The campground is well maintained and the lake is beautiful. We called ahead because we didn’t have reservations. We were told they didn’t have any open sites with power or water but had plenty of availability in sites without power and water. I asked if we would have access to the showers because that was the main thing for us since we had been boondocking for the past couple of days and she said we would. We got to the campground gate and had to pay $12 instead of $10 because we were from out of state. Still reasonable for a site without power. Gate attendant told us to go find a site we like, call the reservation desk and give them the site number, and then come back to him to get a placard for our site. When I called the reservation desk I learned I had to pay an additional $29.40, the $12.00 was just an entry fee! Later, when we went to the nearest showers, we found out we had to buy tokens to use for the showers AND the token machine was broken! This was the only reason we were here and not boondocking again. We drove to another campground with showers and it’s machine was out of tokens. Drove 6miles to yet another campground with showers and bought tokens. There was no notice of how many tokens you get for a dollar or how much time a token buys. Turns out two tokens for a dollar and a token buys two minutes, but you won’t need more than one token because when I say the water is not heated, I don’t mean it is cold tap water, I mean they run it through ice first. We will not stay here again.

For Lake Ogallala SRA: Beautiful sites on shore. No problem for larger rigs. Used dump and fresh water fill at Martin Bay. If time go further up lake to Lone Eagle. Full hookups on wonderful sites. Worth the drive through the various camping areas

For Lake Ogallala SRA: Very nice find, stayed two nights in a motor home. Large mature trees with lots of shade (very unusual for this area!). Lake Ogallala is just below the huge dam for 22-mile Lake McConaughy. All sites are back-in and paved, lots of green grass between sites, spacious areas between loops and sites are not jammed either. About half of sites are reservations only, other half are first come. Popular place with Nebraska locals, all campgrounds were full when we were there. All sites had 15/30/50 amp service. No sewage. Water available at scattered locations between sites.
