For Whispering Pines - Douthat State Park: Beautiful park and very clean campground! Excellent trout fishing in stream right next to your campsite. You can hear the water rushing while outside your camper. Loved sitting on the outside deck of the restaurant in the park. Big playground for kids and you take a trail through the woods to get to it. Nice hiking trails throughout the park. Definitely going back again.

For Whispering Pines - Douthat State Park: Unfortunately we were unable to stay. Arrived after 5 pm without a reservation. No envelopes were available to register on site. Tried following the instructions on the sign to call for registration--there is no answer after 5 pm. The campground was nearly empty. Frustrating--turned around and drove down the road to KOA.
