For Capitol Reef Highway 24: Excellent dispersed area. Arrived on a Saturday in September and there was plenty of space. The entryway is a bit rocky, so take it slow. Some of the spots towards the back require going up rocky inclines, but the views from the top are worth it. Ideal for smaller rigs and vans, but there is room for a few large motor homes near the entrance. Great sunset and star-gazing!

For Capitol Reef Highway 24: Solid spot. The entryway getting in is only 20 yards of slight roughness. I did it in a CRV with a teardrop attached. There are a bunch of sites and is fine for low clearance. Only 1 other camper here.

For Capitol Reef Highway 24: Nice sites starts to fill up pretty quick on the weekend. Some sites have fire pits. Sites fairly level. Some large rocks when you first enter the site. Low clearance vehicle need to take it nice and slow. Everyone was pretty spread out when I got here

For Capitol Reef Highway 24: We loved this spot. Camped in late March 2020. With so many national and state campgrounds closed we were thrilled to find such a great boon docking spot. Beautiful views. Great access. Lots of fun rocks for our 5 year old to play on!

For Capitol Reef Highway 24: Oct 2019: Due to recent rains the highway access and internal roads have many deep ruts, potholes and large exposed rocks. We saw several low clearance vehicles struggle (and some fail) to get into and around the site. About 25 vehicles were here when we arrived on a Friday evening, making the overall site about 1/3 full. Most roads or tracks leading further away from the site are posted with permanent “no vehicle access” signs. There was no sign of any portable toilets. No trash receptacles (site is posted “Pack it in - Pack it out”). About half the vehicles were short-term campers/travelers. About half were obviously staying long-term, many with substantial semi-permanent “improvements” at their sites. Both AT&T and Verizon had useable signal strength. The site has some natural gravel and rock surface areas, but most of the ground is what looks like hard packed earth. It’s actually a fairly soft 2-3 inch thick layer that breaks into a fine dust that blows in thick clouds everywhere (including through every crack and seam into your vehicle) when it gets windy (which this time of year can be most every late afternoon or evening). We saw several vehicles pull in, stay less than 30 minutes then decide to leave, probably because of the continuous strong wind and thick dust. That said, this is a very convenient location from which to explore the surrounding area. Just don’t expect to get back to the highway with anything less than a high clearance 4WD vehicle if there’s a rainstorm!

For Capitol Reef Highway 24: This is a great dispersed BLM campsite. It is very close to the entrance to Capitol Reef NPS and there is a gas station and Mexican restaurant nearby. For BLM land, this is one site that doesn’t have any defined campsites and is just a wide open space. There are plenty of places to park but not many are very level so you will most certainly need blocks. I didn;t see any large class A RV’s at the site and we were the only class C, but there were a number f pull trailers and vans. It is quite rough when you first turn off the road, but it is only a short way to the campsites and it is mostly smooth once you are inside. The location adjacent to the cliffs is beautiful and if back country type camping is for you, you’ll love this spot.

For Capitol Reef Highway 24: Clean, quiet, beautiful views. Marked as Forest Service, not BLM. Two portable toilets - clean, toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
