Our Epic Field Trip

For Alsatian RV Resort: Alsatian RV Resort is in a great location for enjoying the numerous activities available around San Antonio and Texas Hill Country. Situated just 30 minutes west of San Antonio and about 90 minutes from the center of Texas Hill Country, this campground is a great option for a home base. We stayed at Alsatian RV Resort for three nights in May 2020. Get more details at our blog post: https://ourepicfieldtrip.com/2020/06/06/alsatian-rv-resort-castroville-tx-campground-review/

Eric

For Alsatian RV Resort: Worth staying here for a week or a season. One of the best maintained parks I have seen. Concrete drives and pads, wide spacing with golf course quality Bermuda grass between sites. Overlooks the golf course, which is also in excellent condition for challenging play. Very friendly managers John and Cathy go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Offisland

For Alsatian RV Resort: This is a very nice park, spacious sites with nicely maintained grass in between. Lots of green space. We didn’t use the facilities but you can tell everything is neat and well maintained. Really friendly too and lots of guests out walking. Pretty views over a golf course. Worth upgrading to a premium site to get the small patio. Not a whole lot of activities at the park, not much at all in Castroville and about 30 min to San Antonio. I do wish they had a fenced in dog park. There are markers to an enclosed dog run but once you find it it is clearly overgrown and not in use.

For Alsatian RV Resort: Peaceful and Quiet. This is a place to get away. We stayed for a week . The RV resort is right on the golf course. The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds were well Maintained. If your looking to get away this is the place. We stayed here when our grandson graduated from LACKLAND Air-force Base.

Spyder

For Alsatian RV Resort: We stayed a week on winter trip to Texas. Overall very nice RV Park with all concrete pads and good green space between sites. Very nice office/club house. Pool and hot tub. Fitness room nice and adequate but a bit on small side with just a couple of fitness machines. Bathhouse was very nice and clean but smelled like a sewer? Internet was disappointing and inadequate. Speeds were like the old dial-up days 20 years ago no matter the time of day (even at 1:30 a.m. one morning). Tried connecting to each of the 3 different hubs. Rating downgraded due to this. Manager indicated they are working to get fiber optic Internet installed but not sure if/when that might happen. ALSO, the bathhouse and laundry rooms smelled like a sewer. Apparently they have a ventilation and/or sewer issue?? Although Alsatian isn't up to a 5 star facility ... with a couple of the above items corrected it could/should be.

Workingdog

For Alsatian RV Resort: Nice RV Resort and a definite come again. Hook ups were all good, water pressure at 45 Lbs. and strong WiFi signals. Bath/showers were clean and very presentable. Laundry was adequate and pool was nice. Castroville is a nice town to visit and San Antonio is a short drive away.

For Alsatian RV Resort: WOW!! this place is truly a hidden gem. What a great resort with friendly staff. The residents respected others with driving slow, waving hi and just being friendly. The pool is amazing and there is a huge patio lounge area...kinda a pavilion I guess you could call it. Castroville is a great town, perfect size and close to San Antonio for those who don't want to stay in town. We absolutely loved this place!!!!! Little trail in the back for walking just have to be careful of texas critters. Lovely pond for fishing and the park is right on a golf course. So awesome. We will definitely be back :)

RVing Family

For Alsatian RV Resort: We had a great time here. Finding the resort was simple. There are signs to guide you once you turn off the highway. The road leading to the resort is 2 lanes with 2 way traffic but it is an RV friendly area so it worked. We stayed in 33 feet motor home. The staff is very friendly and the grounds are well maintained. Booking, check in, and check out were easy. It is very quiet. We rented a casita site and it was very clean. The casita included a large bathroom with stone shower with good water pressure and an office area. The outdoor area of the casita had outdoor kitchen consisting of gas grill, sink, refrigerator, and dining area. The view overlooking the golf course is great with a pond. It is setup to offer some privacy between coaches. We didn't visit the on site restaurant or the spa. Of note, restaurant not open on Sunday evening. I do wish there was more dog space. Casita site had very level pad and hookups were good. The water pressure is high so they advise using a regulator. They also advise being careful of snakes and critters on property. We didn't see any. Wifi hit or miss. Sometimes it was hard to get good signal with our personal wifi as well. Lots of room for backing out of casita site. San Antonio is 30 minutes away and is a fairly straightforward drive. We will definitely stay here again.
