For Bosque Redondo Lake: Awesome place, lots of little pull-offs right next to the winding river. Lots of people drive up and through the bumpy backroads of the fields adjacent to the river, seems to be a local spot to go trucking and bumping. Bumpy road to get to cool river spots. Cool place - right next to Billy The Kid museum

For Bosque Redondo Lake: Nice local park with a small pond and covered picnic tables located about 2 miles south of the city. The Boondocking sites are fairly level and easy to get to near the pond. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset and good bird watching. We felt safe to stay overnight and would so again.

For Bosque Redondo Lake: We arrived the 11th of October and thought the place looked nice. It was cold at night so no bugs but the views were nice. Little lake with ducks and other birds. There are farms across the way so we felt safe staying there. Covered picnic tables, lined trash barrels and charcoal grills, the sites are pretty level so we will be staying awhile!

For Bosque Redondo Lake: We stayed here one night, a Sunday in late October, in a 24 foot trailer. It’s free! It’s on a small lake, with 2 pit toilets on one side of the lake, and none on the opposite shore, hence, we never checked them out. It’s flat here, and next to a ranch, so there were lots of flies. The site had a covered table, and some had trash cans next to them. Sites are far apart, so feel pretty private, even though they are all in the open. If you have pets, beware! Lots of sand burs! Some people near us pulled out once they realized how miserable pulling those things out of their dig’s fur and paws would be! We visited the Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner and wiuld highly recommend it. We spent 3 hours there, but an hour would be plenty. The sunset and sunrise here were spectacular, and at dusk, you may get treated to flicks of blackbirds circling round each other! We’d stay here again, nice and quiet at night!
