For Stag Point 4X4 OHV Camp: Caveat- Did not make it to Stag Point. But beautiful area! The ranger said the trail to SP was impassable, which is not entirely true, but it does have washouts and rough overgrowth. We made it 6.5 miles short of SP in a stock off road 4x4 Xterra with no aftermarket mods. We came upon a tree fallen across the trail and did not see a way around it due to other fallen trees. We only had a machete and we tried to remove enough of the tree to pass but the tilt appeared it would have likely been too great for my rig and my level of expertise. If you had better means to move the tree or remove a portion of it or ramps to go over it, it can be passed. The tree has some rot time on it. There is a decent clearing to camp at on the trail right before the tree so you could set up there while working on it. Enough for several vehicles. I don’t know what the rest of the 6.5 miles looks like, however the area is gorgeous alpine mountainous forest and I believe worth a try!
