Features > Security > Cuba Travel Restrictions Lifted
The day has finally come. Considering how many lousy countries that US citizens are allowed to visit, the ban on Cuba has seemed pretty silly in recent years.
On April 13th, 2009, the United States and President Obama lifted the restrictions on travel and is allowing Americans with family on the island to make trips to Cuba. Family members can also now easily send money to family in Cuba.
At the same time, mail packages to Cuba can now include items such as clothes, personal hygiene products, and other personals.
Additionally, the Obama administration also will begin issuing licenses to allow telecommunication companies to provide cell and television services to Cuba. People in the US can even pay for those services for others in Cuba such as family and friends.
The boom to the economies of both countries will be noticeable. Here at AllStays, I wasn't allowed to do certain things in regards to Cuba. I still tried to provide information as much as I could without making money off it like it was prohibited. I will now be greatly expanding my information on Cuba.
And I'll be looking forward to maybe getting to Cuba before tourism changes it and really takes over.
