I'm not a big fan of honey. I like sugar, sweets, honey wheat bread but I've never liked the bee product by itself.
I think I will start keeping some around in the RV however after reading how it will help heal wounds. It turns out that it is good at killing micro-organisms. It can even be more effective than antibiotics. I'm not a fan of tea either but I think I need to find a way to start getting some honey.
I would not replace a doctor with honey if I were sick, but it sounds like a good thing to have out on the road or on the trail. It was already known to help with burns and ulcers so this just adds another reason to keep it around. Who knew? I guess the ancient Greeks did when they called it the Nectar of the Gods.
In my own case, since I don't eat much honey by itself, I've taken things like bee pollen capsules in the past. But the best way for those like me may be in products such as gourmet honey candies . These are amazing and with the pure honey as an ingredient, can be low in sugar or even sugar free. My favorites right now are ones from Lovell, Wyoming and the folks at Queen Bee Gardens . They have these little honey candies that are wrapped and easy to eat while going down on the road. It's almost unreal that something can taste so good and be good for you in some way.
