Read the ghost story below...
The Groveland Hotel of California is has a live-in spirit named Lyle. He once worked in a now defunct mine in the creek that runs alongside the hotel, and he lived in The Groveland Hotel until he died in his room in 1927. Being a recluse, he wasn't missed for a few days.
If you stay in his room, you may find that Lyle dislikes women's cosmetics on his dresser. He moves them to the sink nearby. Most guests return to their rooms to note the movement. One guest watched as her new makeup just hopped over the back and landed on the floor!
Lyle also likes to play with the lights, move items on desks in the office, and turn on the water in the shower. He can even somehow make it so a key temporarily does not work in a lock.
The Charlotte Hotel across the street was built and operated by a woman named Charlotte DeFerrari. It is rumored that Lyle and Charlotte were once an item. When he seems to disappear for a while from the hotel, some suspect they may be together.
