For Gulf State Park: Amazing park - bring your bike! Agree with other reviews on the State Park’s free bike rentals, there are no spots close to the campground and the bikes are hit or miss, low availability on weekends. Spots are rather large, some shower houses just finished renovations, Wifi was great (make sure you have a Wifi repeater with an outside antenna, this makes a huge difference!). Reservation system doesn’t seem in sync with reality, sites that are open show as booked (possibly due to cancellations still getting processed).

For Gulf State Park: Larger sites than most parks. Great bike and walking paths. You can bike and walk all day from your site. Proximity to ocean was along boardwalks and interior sidewalks. Bike/walking paths over to beach. Bike rentals at clubhouse. Bike share program at beach and away from Rv park not convenient or comfortable bikes. Beach parking for car included.

For Gulf State Park: Stayed in late December for 10 days. Very spacious sites with reasonably level pads and picnic table. If you want to stay for the winter best plan way ahead. The latest I could stay was the 27th and they were booked after that with snowbirds. Bit pricey for a State Park. The bathrooms and laundry facilities have been renovated after hurricane Sandy so in very good condition. Very high water pressure, bring a reducer. All in all a great park.

Remmi

For Gulf State Park: The park is great, lots to do in hiking, bike riding, beach, walking and fishing. Pool is fantastic. The laundry room is terribly dirty, the washer and dryer’s both are never cleaned inside underneath or behind. They all have lent/dirt in the vents and everywhere around the machines, it’s just gross it’s a shame they don’t spend time on keeping those machines cleaned and up and running. The vent system in the facility is really gross too. Just hoping that maybe the reviews will help them take care of the problem, other than that it’s a great park !!!!

Cat

For Gulf State Park: For the most part it is a nice State Park. But VERY EXPENSIVE and they try very hard to hide the HUGE TAXES AND FEES they charge. You will never know what you total cost is until you check in even then they never give you a receipt that list out the taxes and fees. The WiFi in our area did not work. Do not expect any Southern Hospitality from employees!!! as one other review noted you will often find rude employees on a daily bases. (Like you are lucky we let you come here) The review of the Laundry is correct it was BAD with many machines out of order. Never repaired . It did not appear anyone was in charge of cleaning as it was always dirty. The bath houses were always clean and in good repair. Nice pool area but was closed due to power failure. then closed for covid 19 reasons ,so we did not use.

Joseph Miller

For Gulf State Park: Gulf State Park was fantastic for us. We got lucky getting a spot when we did, due to a cancellation. The park is large with full hook ups, clean, with plenty of opportunities to get out and do things. We biked, went to the beach, headed into Gulf Shores and Orange beach, played a lot of golf and took nightly walks. We especially enjoyed all of the trails. Coming from the Midwest one thing we still aren't used to is no fire pits. We would have loved to have a campfire, but other then that, loved our stay.

David and Cindy

For Gulf State Park: By far this is the best state park we have stayed in. Sites are level and paved. Hookups are new and in great shape. Plenty of room between sites. 500 sites! 48 mile/walking trails lead through the park! So much to do! Organized activities, pickle ball, tennis courts, huge swimming pool with vet friendly staff. Laundry room on site with plenty of washers and dryers. Dog park and free access to the pier with optional fishing. The beach is close within walking distance with fine white sand. If you are bored here, it is only your fault.
