The Travelin' Gal

For Hanna City Park Campground: We absolutely love Hanna Park! We stay here every year because we visit family who live in Jacksonville. Pros: The park is amazing! The beaches are wonderful! The sites in the campground have full hookups. The price is good! Cons: The sites are not level. So bring levelers! (Our last three sites have been a challenge!) the sites are not as useable as they are listed! Get a site one size larger than your RV! For example, if you have a 30 foot RV, get a 40 ft. site, not a 35 ft. site. The sewer hookups are weird! They have an elbow joint at the end that makes dumping difficult. Also bring extra sewer pipe just in case you get a site that needs a long sewer hookup. We have needed extra pipe two out of 3 times! Last they have a new Reserve system. It is terrible and don't use it! It is not like Reserve America, which has been great. Instead email them with your request for a site and your requirements. You may get better results. Also they no longer answer their phone. We tried numerous times, even when we were stuck in a site that was too small and wanted to move to a larger site. Last always make a reservation! Something is always going on in Jacksonville and this gem of a campground within the city is frequently full, even with all of its negatives!

For Hanna City Park Campground: Fantastic! Feels like you are camping in a jungle. Easy to maneuver around the roads. Level. Wonderful biking and hiking trails. Wonderful beach to walk on. We biked or walked to the beach every evening around full moon. Beautiful! We Camped in a 40 foot motorhome.

For Hanna City Park Campground: A beautiful park with sites in deep shade. Couldn't see anyone from our site. We took a walk along the beach and picked up a few shells we don't see on the west coast. Then we walked along the lake looking for alligators (didn't see any). Heard lots of beautiful bird calls. And the price was very affordable - about $30. We found a few geocaches nearby.

For Hanna City Park Campground: Pro's: Really nice place! Very secluded, beautiful beach just outside campground, great fishing lake that allows no powered watercraft, great biking options from casual rides to challenging off road loops. Sites have 30/50 amps, water & sewer and fire-pit. Camp hosts do a great job keeping each site clear and free of debris. This campground is heavily wooded! That said, our 40' DP had no problem accessing roadways & large pull through sites. Very enjoyable long weekend. This is a hidden gem!
Con's: Camp store is closed, restrooms are a 6 on a 10 scale, no alcohol.
